Keeping You in the Know

Four Dates That Every Brewer Should Know for February!

Here ye, Here ye! February brings days worthy of celebration (with a beer!)

February 1 – 28: Stout Month

Originating from the renowned Mountain Sun Pub & Brewery in Boulder, CO in 1993, Stout Month has grown into an international month-long celebration honoring one of the most iconic beer styles. If you need a stout recipe email us, we would love to help set up a kit for you.  Schoolhouse Brewing Ordering

February 7 – Off Flavor Tasting Class at Schoolhouse

This basic off-flavor class, led my Head Brewer Thomas Monti, guides the attendants in identifying the six common beer flaws: three that result from the brewing process and three that result from handling. The six flavors are: diacetyl, DMS, acetaldehyde, lightstruck, trans-2-nonenal, and infection.

February 3 – 5: Cider Con

The American Cider Association’s annual Cider Con will be held virtually in 2021. The three-day online event features educational seminars and panels from experts on cider production.

February 17 – March 3: National Homebrew Competition Registration & Payment Window

The AHA National Homebrew Competition is the world’s largest homebrew competition.  The competition has been consolidated from 13 first-round judging sites to one central location (Denver, CO) this year.

February 18: National Drink Wine Day

Not only is it one of our favorite days of the year – but it’s also one that gets a lot of attention on social media and through news publications. And…be on the lookout, because Schoolhouse Brewing is obtaining our Wine License and will soon be producing and selling our own wine! Cheers!
