Everything you need to know before you book
Booking & Payment
Do I have to buy a drink package?
No. You can rent the space and let guests pay for their own drinks. If you add a package (2 drinks $15, 3 drinks $22, open bar $27 per guest), it's billed on at least 75% of the adults 21 and over in your group, rounded up. Kids and anyone under 21 don't count. Example: 55 guests, 40 of them adults, means 30 packages.
How far in advance do I need to book?
As little as one week out if the space is available. For weekend dates or a whole buyout, earlier is better.
What does it cost?
Semi-private (up to 50 guests): $400 Monday to Friday, $500 Saturday and Sunday. Whole facility (up to 225 guests): Monday to Thursday $3,000, or $2,250 with a drink package. Friday and Sunday $4,000, or $3,000 with a package. Saturday $5,000, or $4,000 with a package. Both include 3 hours. A drink package is optional. We'll walk you through the full number once you reach out.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. $100 for semi-private events, $1,000 for whole facility buyouts. It's due at booking to hold your date and is non-refundable, applied toward your total. Sending the inquiry form doesn't reserve a date. Bookings are normally confirmed with a signed agreement and deposit.
What if I need to change my date or cancel?
You can reschedule at no charge if the new date is available and you notify us before your original event date. Your deposit carries over. If you cancel outright, the deposit is forfeited. No refunds for no-shows or early departure.
How do I pay?
Cash, check or ACH: no added fee. Credit card: 3% of the total you pay by card, which includes rental, extra hours, drink packages, gratuity, sales tax and add-ons. Pay part by card and the 3% applies only to that part.
What about tax and gratuity?
Sales tax is 6%, on drink packages only. Gratuity is 20%. On a semi-private with a drink package, it covers the rental, any extra hours and the package. On a whole-facility buyout, it covers the drink package. If you rent the semi-private without a package, guests who run their own tabs pay a 25% minimum gratuity on their checks.
Space & Capacity
How many people can you hold?
Semi-private (the production area) holds up to 50 guests. A whole-facility buyout holds up to 225.
Is the taproom still open to the public during my event?
For semi-private events, yes. You get the production area while the taproom stays open. For a whole facility buyout, we close to the public for your event.
How much time do we get?
Both options include 3 hours. Need more? Extra time is $75 an hour on a semi-private and $250 an hour on a whole-facility buyout, agreed before the event and subject to the schedule.
Is Schoolhouse Brewing kid-friendly?
Yes, we're family-friendly. Kids are welcome, and they just need to be supervised at all times.
Food & Drink
What drink options do you have?
Beyond our craft beer, we pour house red and white wine, homemade sangria, margaritas, fresh cider, hard lemonade, and a rotating hard seltzer flavor. You can also add a drink package: 2 drinks ($15 per guest), 3 drinks ($22) or open bar ($27, wristbands included). A package is billed on at least 75% of the adults 21 and over in your group, rounded up.
Can we bring our own alcohol?
No outside alcohol or beverages of any kind.
Can we bring in outside food or a caterer?
Yes. Bring in a caterer of your choice as long as they're licensed and insured. The caterer or purchaser handles plates, napkins, cutlery, and food-related ice.
What do drink tickets cover?
Each ticket covers a full or half pour of beer, a soft drink, a glass of wine, or a pour of cider or seltzer. Snacks, premium sodas, and THC-infused beverages aren't included.
Is there an age policy?
Yes, guests must be 21+ to drink. Serving alcohol to anyone under 21 is grounds for immediate cancellation of the event.
Logistics & Extras
Is there parking?
Yes, onsite parking is available for your guests.
Can we decorate?
Yes, you're welcome to decorate with signs, balloons, and similar items during your event time. Glitter and confetti aren't allowed, and all decor needs to be removed by the end of your rental time.
Who handles cleanup?
Just bag up your trash and we'll take it from there. Our staff handles the rest.
What's the entertainment setup?
AV options are available for slideshows, sports and music. Ask us about the setup for your event. We have 21 pinball machines. Add pinball for your group at $100 per 100 games. We can also rename one of our taps in your honor for the night: $200.
Are we responsible for damages?
You're responsible for any damage to the venue, fixtures, or equipment caused by your guests or vendors beyond normal wear and tear.
